My Journey to Healing: From Spiritual Tools to Strength

Living my best life... Intentionally
Living my best life... Intentionally

Today, I stand in deep gratitude. As of January 2025, I have officially received a clean bill of health. My blood pressure is stable, my body is strong, and I feel more aligned than ever. But let me tell you—this journey was not easy. It required patience, discipline, and trust in my spiritual tools every step of the way.

Reflecting on the Beginning

I started this journey by listening to both conventional and alternative medicine. First, I learned about pharmaceutical diuretics, but I was determined to at least TRY to find health without medication. I leaned into herbal allies like tinctures and teas . I crafted my daily rituals with intention—drinking healing teas, juicing fruits, and using prayer to infuse my meals with energy. I called on Oshun for guidance, created waist beads as a tangible reminder of my progress, and sought the wisdom of my ancestors. Tarot also walked beside me, offering daily insight into my transformation.

Some days I could really tell, my body was struggling. Inflammation in my ankle led to a foot brace, knee pain made movement difficult, and my back reminded me that healing wasn’t just about lowering my blood pressure—it was about rebuilding my entire foundation.

Doing the Work

I had to commit to my healing like it was a sacred practice. I incorporated yoga to strengthen my joints, acupuncture to move stagnant energy, massage therapy to release tension, and sauna therapy to cleanse my body. I changed my diet, increased my water intake, and learned to listen deeply to what my body needed.

Slowly but surely, I built myself back up.

Now, I move with intention and strength. I walk at least 10,000 steps 4-5 days a week. I lift weights three days a week. I don’t just feel better—I feel powerful. I have reclaimed my health, my body, and my spirit.

The Power of Spiritual Tools

This journey affirmed something I’ve always known—our spiritual tools are here to support us, but we must do the work. Prayer, herbs, and divination provided guidance, but it was my daily commitment to movement, nourishment, and healing that brought me here.

If you’re on a healing journey, trust your process. Call on your ancestors. Listen to your body. Do the work. Healing is not just about removing illness; it’s about stepping fully into your power.

Today, I celebrate. And if you’re reading this, I hope you find the strength to celebrate your journey too.

Blessings,

Mama Laiwah 💛✨
